This is a kit with 2 matched sticks of 1gb ram, not just one single stick as stated by another reviewer. To get the most of your ddr2 memory upgrade always purchase and install a matched set. Crucial has been known for high quality, stable products and these are no exception. With a lifetime warrenty and free customer service you can't go wrong. I had a before purchase question. Crucial's customer service answered my question promptly and professionally.
My application: HP Pavilion a1730n, AMD Athalon dual core 4600+, and Vista Home Premium. The memory sticks installed easily and were recognized instantly. By upping my installed ram to 4gb there is a marked improvement, especially under high load conditions. I enjoy an online Virtual Reality 3D Community and even with a high performance graphics card my system would bog now and then. The extra 2 gigs of ram has helped boost overall performance.
