Finally! [Posted on 2008-10-23] Finally- a zester/grater that actually zests! This is the 3rd zester I've bought, because the 1st 2 would not take any zest off of citrus fruit. Maybe they're fine for grating parmesan or something, but I need one for grating citrus, and this one does it perfeclty and effortlessly!
Very nice [Posted on 2008-10-30] Ordered it mostly to run my order total up to get free shipping, but it turned out to be exactly what I needed. It really does work well on chedder and other cheeses, at least for one or two servings. Haven't used it for zesting yet, but my guess is it will be perfect. It cleans up easily. I recommend it.
Better than Microplane [Posted on 2008-11-15] Definitely better than Microplane in its shape (slightly rounded) and its sharpness (hide your knuckles). Also love the fact that the end you place on the counter/cutting board is rubber coated to prevent slippage. Only drawback is the plastic handle: it's too short (and I have little hands!), and the plastic is cheezy and uncomfortable. A lot of my utensils are Good Grips, and you really come to rely on and appreciate the heft, girth and comfort of their handles.
Better than microplane [Posted on 2008-12-27] I bought this for my sister as a Christmas present and used it Christmas night to garnish a chocolate pie. It works great! I am looking forward to using this product more.
Grate Greater ;) [Posted on 2008-12-31] I look for things to grate so as to have an excuse to use this. It's fantastic for zesting, finely grating garlic, ginger and for tiny shreds of cheese.
No complaints.
