This is a decent monitor, from a crappy company... [Posted on 2008-05-31] I got one of these a year ago from Tiger Direct for $140. It was a great monitor. after about a year, the VGA input got finicky and started displaying everything with a pink hue. I did use two computers on this computer, so I noticed it right away. I then went out and bought a Sceptre 24" monitor. This one had major issues with the DVI input. I returned it for another one, and it had the same problem, plus a dead pixel. I researched it and found that Sceptre monitors are prone to problems and the company doesn't seem to care. After this, I went out and bought an HP w2207, which is gorgeous. It's about $40 more, but it's 2" bigger, and it has a USB hub built in among other features.
If you plan to get this, do it at a retail store with a warranty so that if something does go bad, you don't have to pay to ship it away and lose a monitor for a couple of weeks. I had only one problem with this monitor, and I really enjoyed it before it went bad, but after getting two more from the same company and reading up on the problems their monitors have, I cannot fully recommend this.
Bottom line: do a little more research before you buy one of these.
Do Not Buy [Posted on 2008-07-17] I have two sceptre monitors that have broken a total of 4 times. If Sceptre seems like a good deal it is only because the product is cheaply made. Do not waste your money. In the long run you will waste time and money.
Beware of Sceptre [Posted on 2008-08-07] I won't bore anyone with my story, just trust me, it comes from experience when I say that Sceptre monitors suffer from some significant quality issues.
You might be able to save $20 or even $50 by going with a Sceptre, but it's going to cost a lot more in the long run.
