Customer Reviews:

Great Speakers [Posted on 2007-05-24]
I got these speakers along with my dell computer and they are great. They work for what I use them for.

Good speakers for the price [Posted on 2007-05-29]
These speakers from Dell give you good basic sound quality at an economy price.
The USB Port powers these and there is no bulky AC Adapter so don't expect incredible sound quality you would get from the ones with external power adapters. They are great for The home or office for space saving as they are small and light weight.

Pop away with USB power [Posted on 2007-06-07]
I got these through Dell; the right speaker sounded like it was blown out for the first couple days (yes, it was properly connected, I even connected it to my iPod to check that it wasn't my sound card), then the speaker sounded fine... except that every few minutes several loud hissing/popping sounds would emit from the speakers. This happened even when the speakers' input was disconnected from the sound card (at least it wasn't my sound card). The speakers were getting some sort of interference from the USB power, I told Dell, they sent me a new set, same problem. Though it's nice not to have a giant AC/DC adapter to plug in, you have to dedicate a USB port and potentially have the same interference problem I do. I'm going try running them through a powered USB hub to see if that takes care of the interferenceD-Link DUB-H4 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub (I need the extra ports anyway), if not I'll keep one set for my laptop/iPod, give the other away, and buy a 5.1 channel receiver and some speakers.

Update (June 10, 2007): After some research, I found that USB powered speakers are susceptible to interference from cell phones. The popping noise happens if my phone is within five feet of the speakers. The sound quality above 60% volume is quite bad. Three stars at best.

Poor quality sound for music [Posted on 2008-06-05]
Speakers are pretty much as advertised, they are more than sufficient for system event sounds, but if you plan to play music through them you'll be dissapointed. Just overall tinny, poor base, etc.
