Customer Reviews:

The D-Link DGE-560T is a great performer. [Posted on 2007-06-07]
I had one open slot between my SLI video cards for a PCI-Express card and this card works great there. It was easy to install, hooked up to the internet right off, and keeps me in the game. It was a very good card at a very good value (especially if you looked at prices elsewhere).

want to install on a vista pc? [Posted on 2007-06-14]
don't purchase... vista drivers are not available. the d-link web site
indicates that they are coming soon. when i emailed asking when the
drivers would be available they responded... Unfortunately we do not have
an ETA as to the release of Vista drivers for this unit. Please check the
support site often for updates.

Liked the first one so much I bought another [Posted on 2007-10-08]
I purchased one of these for my file/game server running on windows XP x64 about two months ago since the motherboard only supported 10/100 speeds and I finally upgraded to gigabit router (D-link DIR-655) and wanted to take full advantage of the throughput it had to offer across my LAN (especially with all of the file transfers and media streaming I tend to do across my LAN). There was instantly a notceable improvement to latency on the LAN ~10ms, and latency to my first hop ~40ms.

I liked it so much I decided to purchase one for my Desktop (running windows Vista Ultimate x64) since the integrated realtek LAN controller on my Abit IP-35pro was gigabit, but runs on a 32bit PCI bus which handicapped transfers somewhat. I'm now seeing better bandwidth saturation and consistency in packet transmits between the two machines.

One of the other reviewers here mentioned that there is no vista (x86 or x64) driver support on D-Link's website, and while this may be true, it's a simple enough matter to go to Marvell's website (the Lan controller's chipset maker) and download the latest, most up to date Yukon drivers.

Overall I couldn't be happier with my purchase and if you have the right network infrastructure to take advantage of it (cat 6 cabling, a gigabit router or switch, and other computers with gigabit controllers) you'll see some very speedy file transfers across your network

Other notes: enabling jumbo frames in the driver's advanced settings did seem to help a little, but nothing overtly dramatic. Transfer rates can also be limited depending on the read/write speeds of your hard drives.

Doesn't work on linux [Posted on 2008-01-11]
Says it supports 2.4.x or higher but that isn't the case if you are using RHEL5. Contacted techsupport and to there credit they answered super quick but it took a long time to say yea it should work, but then it was well we only support what's in the README and we don't have much info for Linux. I'll go with Intel and not have the problems and get a better card.
