Great Product [Posted on 2008-01-25] This router is so compact and light, we can just hide it on the desk and hardly know it's there. We bought it when our V-Tech Vonage router suddenly died on us after just a couple months so hopefully this one lasts a little longer.
Bad customer support [Posted on 2008-02-02] When I terminated Vonage service, they charged the disconnection fee of around $30.00; however, they never advertise this anywhere. I was not aware of the hidden fees by vonage. I am outraged by this.
It took me almost 20 minutes to tell them I want to disconnect the service, but the operator would not accept this and wasted lots of my time, and I had to tell them again and again that I just want to disconnect the service, finally they did.
Now that I dont have vongage anymore, they have bombarded my mailbox with specials, and they need to stop this as well.
I am not recommending Vonage to anyone, especially because of bad support.
Great savings on telephony [Posted on 2008-02-17]
I was able to reduce my phone bill, I speak to any part of the USA and Canada, besides my free calls to England, Italy and Spain also have friends and family who do not wise spirit of them a long time and now I talk almost every day in my spare time
Super easy install, works great. [Posted on 2008-02-25] Installation was super easy. Works faster and better than the original Linksys Router that came with my new Vonage service couple of years ago. And it takes up 1/3 of the space. Highly recommend.
Plug and Play!! [Posted on 2008-04-11] I really like this unit. Had another before, I think it was a Linksys, which was HUGE!! This one is small, about the size of a pack of cards, and it will work with two lines.
It's easy to set up. All you need to do is connect it to your online connection and plug a phone in. Simple.
About Vonage in general-- sound quality is pretty good, features are nice, and it's a good service overall. Customer service is a bit weird, with the calls going to the Philliapeans or another non-US call center. I have gotten great service from them though, so don't let that scare you.
Online interface is great. You can view your bill, call logs, get voice mail, and more.
This is much better than traditional phone companies, if you ask me. The only problem is you have to have a high speed online service.
The best thing about this is that you can get it and take it ANYWHERE. I have moved three times and didn't have to worry about changing my address with the phone company. And if you need to go around the world, just take it with you and people will still be able to reach you at the same number.
