Works great for me [Posted on 2008-08-21] I've been using the WBR-1310 for about 2 years now and it works great for me. I replaced my Lynksis that I couldn't get to work. I'd had the B from them and it worked for quite a while but the G just wouldn't work no matter what I tried. My provider blamed Lynksis who blamed my provider and we were caught in the middle. My problems vanished when I plugged in the D-Link. I use the WEP and MAC addresses for security and that's plenty for my surroundings. I recommend this product and don't understand what all the negative reviews are about. Either I'm lucky or those other guys are not.
Works great! Highly recommended. [Posted on 2008-08-27] I bought this at Tar-jay for about $40 to replace my 4th burnt-out Netgear router. I'm using Firmware Version 2.02. I have been using it for a few months and I have had absolutely no problems with it. It's fast and supports my old Netgear Music Player. Has not required any reboots.
Never Again [Posted on 2008-09-20] My mom bought me a new laptop, printer and router for my birthday, and also for school, because my old computer had finally had enough and just quit working for me, even though I tried to keep it running.
When I was finally able to get it set up it worked just fine. I was very happy with it and was delighted I could work on the Internet around the house instead of having to be in a chair all the time.
Now, I'm far less happy. The router quit working on my computer after just 3 months and I've just spent a total of 10, yes 10! hours trying to get someone to help me with setting it back up.
I called Verizon, but it's not their product and couldn't help me. So they gave me to them. And OMG! out of the nearly 10 people I talked to about the problem only 2 could even help with the problem at all! One I couldn't even hear and another didn't even speak clear English. Most refused to listen when I told them it wasn't working and one even hung up on me! I know I was probably irate, but after 6 hours of the same problem you're bound to be pissed off.
So in total I had to restore my computer completely(which was a bit of the problem, but the people at HP were awesome with the whole thing.) Verizon had to fix a problem with my modem that I don't think was their fault, and the last person at D-link finally listened to me and got their damned product to work.
I'll not be buying another of these. If it goes out again I'll be getting gun practice and another router. When the product works it's just dandy. But when it doesn't the tech support is just close to awful. And God forbid your product is old. You'll have to pay for the service. Whoever heard of that?
Wireless G Router [Posted on 2008-09-20] Product, product pricing and delivery were all great. The product box UPC Code was not valid to allow a qualifying rebate.
Very Unhappy. [Posted on 2008-10-04] This little 'gem' worked beautifully. Well, it worked beautifully for three months. Now, three months later, it's just dead. Oh the lights are blinking but it still does not send the signal to my Macbook.
Worst of all is the tech support. It was honestly the worst tech support I have ever experienced. I waited forever on the phone to get through. I ended up having to speak to three people who were all difficult to understand. One of them spoke too quickly and was rude to me. Ultimately they said it was the internet providers fault.
I will likely throw this out tomorrow and buy a new router from another company.
