All this time I thought I was the only one. I have a Jane Lane as a best friend. When we watch Daria together it's like watching ourselves. I love Daria and have been a fan quite some time. I'm waiting for "Is It Fall Yet?" to be available.

If you are a bit (or a lot) anti-social, hate stupid, shallow people, and are somewhat cynical, Daria will appeal to you.

Whenever Daria is played on MTV latley I hardly ever see these four episodes. This tape includes "Esteemers" which is the first episode when Daria and the Morgandorffer family first move to Lawndale. I don't remember seeing this one it's been a long time if I have, but it is my faveorite episode now! "Esteemers" reminds me alot of the book "The Daria Diaries" which you gotta get too. The tape also includes "The Invitation" which I've seen a few times on MTV. It's when Daria and Jane are invited to Brittney's party because Daria helps Brittney with perspective in art class. "College Bored" is on MTV rarley I really thought it was going to be the episode when Daria and Jodie go to that college for the seminar thing but it isn't. It is actually about when the whole Morgandorffer family goes to the parents' old college for a visit because of a request from the girls' SAT prep class. Last is the pilot episode of Daria "Sealed with a Kick" which is in black and white. Daria had some morbid remarks, but she reminded me more of Quinn! (scary...)

INTRODUCTION:
In 1997, the unthinkable happened - Mike Judge stopped making new Beavis and Butt-Head episodes, so that he could devote himself entirely to his new series, King of the Hill. Fortunately, one of the lesser-known characters from the B&B universe would get new life - Daria. The same year B&B got cancelled, Daria began airing. Although radically different from B&B, the series was nothing short of excellent. Two VHS tapes of episodes from the series were released. Read on for this - my review of the first tape.

BASIC PLOT:
This tape consists of the following episodes:
-Esteemsters: The first episode ever broadcast. In this episode, Daria meets Jane, and the two cheat in order to graduate from a self-esteem class.
-The Invitation: Daria helps Brittany with her art assignment, and she gets invited to a party she is holding. At first she doesn't want to go, but when she discovers Quinn is going, she decides to take advantage of the opportunity to make her sister miserable. This episode introduces Charles "Upchuck" Ruttheimer.
-College Bored: Daria and Quinn are enrolled into a college-prep class, following a visit to Jake's old college.
-Sealed With A Kick: The series pilot which was never broadcast - this episode is actually in black and white, because it was never intended for broadcast.

SERIES OPINIONS:
This series isn't nearly as outrageous as Beavis and Butt-Head was - it doesn't have to be. It's an excellent series, not just because of all the comedy, but because many teenagers can relate to the characters. If you never got a chance to see this series, do yourself a favor and check it out.

OVERALL:
It's a shame the series is no longer in production, and that this video is out of print, because it really was an excellent series. If you're in a store with used/cheap videos and you come across this, buy it. It's doubtful you'll be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite shows and with all the series coming out, when will I see this one?!

Daria was one of the best shows that MTV had made. It was a satiric cartoon about a 17 year old girl who's sarcasm and wit was absolutely hilarious to all the fans of the show.

This video was basically an introduction to the world of Daria. It consists of 4 episodes (the last one being in black and white as it was not broadcasted ) "Esteemsters", "the Invitation" and "College Bored" shows the introduction of Daria and the rest of the cast.

Personally I think that the demise of Daria was a poor choice by MTV as it was a great show that was never really appreciated until it was gone. I absolutely love Daria and hopefully MTV will soon release a boxed set containing all the episodes that were released.
