The best thing about this drive is that it acts like a local disk and a network drive at the same time. It's connected to your network but appears as a local disk on any user's computer. The technology is called NDAS, which is better than the more commonly used NAS. The great thing is, the price is actually cheaper and transferring data is substantially faster! The Datastation Maxi is well-designed; it's sleek and comes with an L-shaped bracket that can be used as a vertical stand or to hang the drive underneath a desk to conserve space. I run a small business and this drive offers the perfect solution for our network needs.
