If you receive CDs/DVDs from clients/customers or if you've stored things on that media and just don't want to toss them in the trash when done, feed them in to this small and inexpensive machine. Within the 4 seconds (as promised), it'll make them totally unreadable - at least by normal means. They slide in at the front and are spit out into the basket at the back. Easy as can be with no broken pieces and a limited chance to harm yourself. A really good investment. The box surprised me with a notation about HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley - and it certainly makes sense that this item would certainly be a valuable addition for compliance with either/both of those two regulations. You never know where your trash will wind up so protect your records now!
