We have looked at and listened to all the high end subs. We bought this subwoofer because a 1000 watt subwoofer was way out of our price range. At first I was disappointed because I thought the sound was not crisp or clean. But we replaced some 15 year old bose speakers with some brand new klipsch and that made all the difference in the world!!!! We mostly use it for movies and it really helps give the movie theater effect we were looking for!
It is a pretty big box, so you need to have a place for it in your room. It was easy to assemble and compared to the $1000 and up subwoofers with the same wattage, I think this one does quite nicely.

I was in search of a hard hitting sub to go with my DefTech Mythos 8's and BP2X's. I was leaning towards the Supercube 1 or a SVS sub but they were about $300 more and had smaller drivers. The free shipping from Parts Express really sealed it! It took me about 1.5 hours to do the assembly which was cake. The hardest part was installing the acoustical foam inside with spray glue (you have to trim). The fit and finish is great! From 70' away outside getting mail I can hear this thing and it sounds great. I listened to it playing music and also reviewed it playing Batman and Terminator 2. It did well with all! For the price I am positive you will not find better. If you should ever want to change just drop another 15" sub in and give it a whirl but I doubt you will.

first, i'd just like to say that this is an excellent sub for the money. but to the other reviewers, when comparing subs, the amount of listed watts and driver size, is not an indication of performance. the subwoofer design is what you need to look at. therefore, when comparing different sub manufacturers, you cant look at the spec sheet and come to the conclusion that the one with more watts and larger driver is the better sub. some
subs have a much more efficient design and can, therefore, peform better then others using less physical watts. many subs have huge amplifies, but also produce alot of wasted energy. the
driver size is also not necessarily any indication of performance .you need to evaluate the built quality, the quality of the components, driver design, and the oveall design of the subwoofer when making comparisons.
