I found this book helpful and down to earth. The suggestions regarding room arrangement really work and the rooms do look better. Colour pictures would have been helpful.

she makes a lot of promises but does not deliver. it is NOT simple to understand, NOT clearly written, and NOT well illisturated.
she does not address the "what if" questions. her formula only seems to work if you already own what she describes and if your room matches her basic shapes. if you are stuck after the first step (placing the sofa in front of the focal point) you are out of luck--because she just rolls on telling you and promising you how everything will come together and make sense. her drawings seem to contradict what she says and make no SENSE.

I lost my book. boo hoo...I've bought this book a couple of times and I believe it's in the library of people who borrowed it. You must have this book in your library because 1) It gives hands on tips on how to move your furniture around so it forms the nice cozy corners, spaces in a room. Also , most people place their furniture around the room instead of looking at different spaces in a room for the potential to build mini rooms within a room. I think once you understand how to segment a room, you'll enjoy your home more because you'll really begin to see the spatial opportunities in even the smallest of homes. This book helps the artist in you to "see".

This book is a great help if you are trying to make a room beautiful. It shows you how to arrange your furniture and make the most of what you have. I recommend this highly.
