This thing is not a good buy... [Posted on 2008-05-02] I have had this keyboard for a long time now, and I think today is the day I'm done working with it. It disconnects all of the time and is very difficult to re-connect well (it connects but doesn't type). I thought it was that I didn't understand Bluetooth, but this is the only Bluetooth device I'm using with my tablet that is having issues.
If some has found a way to make this more productive, please let me know! I'd love for it to work - it just doesn't!
Really, really bad [Posted on 2008-06-04] Hmmm, terrible from the word go. Keeps disconnecting, have to switch on and off to reconnect. You will be typing and suddenlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... you get the picture. Eats batteries. An absolutely rubbish piece of kit. Going in the bin once I get a replacement from another manufacturer.
It's an awful product. [Posted on 2008-08-01] The mouse hurts my hand after using it for 8 hours while working. The keyboard and mouse both will lose the connection at inconvenient times making you spend 30-45 minutes trying to get the software installed again, without a mouse to use while you do it. The keyboard keys get stuck so letters keep typing or if you at times press backspace it gets stuck and will ERASE everything you just wrote! After one year of having the mouse the left click is stuck and every 5 minutes or so will double click twice when you only clicked once. So if you click a "Confirm Order" button on the web it can double click it causing your credit card to be charged twice! I'm dumping it this weekend because of all the problems. It's a shame. I only give it two stars as the rare times they work they are accurate and the mouse is quick. But it's too frustrating as it's a daily ordeal.
Waste of Plastic [Posted on 2008-09-19] Unsolicited automatic repeating of keys, eating of batteries (hey, does Dell have stock in Energizer???), loss of connectivity - yep, it's all true; I hate this keyboard/mouse set. Bad thing for me is that I have to support about ten of them in my office, so you guessed it - at least once a week I am dealing with one of them having some sort of problem. The loss of connectivity is the worst becuase there is no reliable solution. You can press those little "connect" buttons until you are blue in the face, and it's not going to connect. Shutdown and restart, right....pull the batteries out too, I don't think so.... Dell's testing department should be housecleaned. This keyboard/mouse set gives bluetooth a bad name.
This product should never have been released [Posted on 2008-10-10] We've purchased nearly 20 of these. The devices lose their connection intermittently many times a day. In an office environment this is totally unacceptable. Sometimes we have to swap out the keyboard, mouse, and USB transmitter with another to re-establish communication with the PC. At other times we've had to resort to a wired keyboard and mouse.
We've tried the Windows Bluetooth drivers and the Dell Bluetooth drivers. We've disabled the power management feature of the USB hubs. We've set the PC power settings to always on. Nothing has helped eliminate the connection problems.
Dell should never have released this product to the market...it simply doesn't work properly.
