Broom Vacuum [Posted on 2008-02-25] It's cool it does a fairly good job at picking up the sand and dog hair Larger stuff like pebbles or pellets from the stove are another story. it hurts if you hit your toes but for the most part it was worth it..
Heavier than a real broom with less cleaning power [Posted on 2008-02-27] It only took one use to figure out this broom was not for me. It's much heavier than a real broom, which makes sweeping even more of a chore. And it's essentially like a regular broom in that you have to sweep first - the vacuum-as-you-sweep function really didn't work for me. The only benefit is it's supposed to suck up the debris you collect, but for that to work the dust has to be lined up perfectly and you have to aim the center of the broom at it. It's a pain. I've gone back to my Swiffer-type sweepers and recently discovered microfiber dust mops, which are great. I keep looking for my perfect vacuum, but I'm beginning to doubt it exists.
Better than a regular broom [Posted on 2008-02-28] I like the product although I wasn't "blown away" with it's productivity. Cordless feature is nice and the battery lasts a long time. When sweeping pet hair I have to clear the filter often otherwise the motor seems to sufficate. I have used other types of stick vacuums and actually prefer them to this product. My opinion is if you're going to spend $50 on something like this - buy an electric stick broom. But all-in-all using the Dirt Devil Broom vac is much better than the traditional broom and dust pan.
Great invention [Posted on 2008-03-18] Great invention. Like to keep one on hand in each bathroom for quick spruce ups.
Broom Vac [Posted on 2008-04-08] Best 50 dollars I ever spent. I have 3 dogs and any product that helps me in between BIG VACUUMING is great!
