Great idea but DON'T buy it [Posted on 2008-06-22] This is a very cute idea, but the quality is HORRIBLE. I bought it for a friend's daughter for xmas, and she called to tell me how bad the quality it and I sent it back. DO NOT waste your time or money on this one. Love the idea though. They just need to get it to work as good as it looks!
Do NOT buy this item. [Posted on 2008-07-14] I accept the fact that some products designed for kids may not have sophisticated features. However, this product is totally unacceptable. The quality is so bad that it is unbelievable. You can never focus because what you see in the viewer comes out totally different from what you actually shoot. The photos are blurry, the colors are totally off... Anyway, I was astounded at the poor quality and the seller's audacity in putting such an item in the market. Do NOT buy this no matter how tempted you are because of its attractive design.
Great camera for my daughter [Posted on 2008-08-11] I recently bought this camera for my daughter's 8th birthday. She loves it! We haven't really seen any of the problems that the other reviews claim, so maybe they were just unlucky and got a faulty camera. I've had that happen myself with a couple electronic devices I've purchased in the past, but I was able to exchange them at the places I bought them - and the replacement always ended up working fine (so it was just a manufacturing defect I'm guessing). This camera isn't quite 1 megapixel, so it doesn't take the best pictures ever, but what do you expect for a kids camera? Especially a camera that isn't even 1 megapixel - I think if you expect a camera that's less than a megapixel to have crystal clear pictures, then you need to stick with 35mm, or do some more research on digital cameras so you know what to expect and what you're talking about. My daughter loves Hannah Montana, and she also loves stealing my digital camera to play with. The fact that I found a starter toy camera with Hannah on it was the main motivating factor for me, because now she wants to play with her camera more than mine....so I'm not going to complain.
OK for a seven-year-old [Posted on 2008-12-26] The photos taken with this camera tend to be grainy and sometimes unfocused. I consider it an OK value for an early elementary aged child, but ultimately she would still rather take photos with my camera.
PATHETIC! [Posted on 2008-12-26] Amazon should get misrepresented junk like this off their site before they lose more customers.
