Its one of the few good coopertive RPG games  [Posted on 2007-02-23]
Sure it has some bugs but only if you play nonstop for four hours.
Tell you what. Save at the end of two hours and restart. Works nice, no lag. I play cooperatively with a friend from East Coast to West Coast. We played whole game twice now.

I bought the collector edition to get all of the fixes and also so that my son (he's 21) can play side-by-side with me on a co-op game this coming weekend. (Needed two copies to keep it legal)

It is one of the few truly good RPG games around that allows two players to do the same mission (Well Brothers-in-Arms does but thats a war title).

It is a lot of fun and more stable than, let's say, Simcity 4, Civ 4, Call of Duty 2, etc.

If you enjoy the content, and the idea behind the title, applaud it so that we get more titles like this rather than console based kick-boxing crap.

Not great(but then again,greatness is *RARELY*achieved in today's games). [Posted on 2007-05-23]
Let the truth be told that no matter what game you purchase these days, it's common place to have it patched. Now,as far as I'm concerned games should be patched before they even hit the store shelves, but we all know that kind of reasoning is just wishfull thinking. I've never purchased the 1st release of this game, so i can't comment on that matter ,but i can sympathize with those who have and can understand thier anger towards this product. I have to admit, it really takes alot of nerve to rip off such a large group of consumers with an unfinshed release of a product, turn around and then re-release it, slap a new title on it and expect people to buy it. Think about it though, as much as some of us are denying it(insert your favorite franchise here), this is not the only company to do this and rest assured, they won't be the last, it's becoming the "NORM". With that said, I am enjoying this game, it's fun. There are some very noticeable bugs in the game, but overall it is still playable, I have definitely played worse.I think the thing that keeps my intrest is the fact that the game forces you to earn your rewards(skill pts.ect..ect..) which is a formula that is going the way of the dinosaur in most(not all) of today's modern games. I want a game to challenge me..I don't want my hand held and nose pointed in a certain direction in order to complete a quest. Worse then that, i don't want to be given the option of carrying a shield just for looks and be able to complete the entire game with the attack button. This is where this game differs somewhat. If you don't learn to block against the goups of enemies that are thrown at you(monsters usually attack in groups of 4 or more), you'll find the ('R'KEY-Respawn) as being the most used key during each encounter. I find the few bugs in the game absolutely laughable(i.e walking through crates) due to the fact that they really don't hinder gameplay. The story is a slight bit above average and the enemies can be fierce if you don't 'BLOCK &PARRY'.Get used to 'R' clicking, it WILL determine the difference between the gain and loss of advancement points. Not a great game, but definitely not as bad as most have made it out to be. But then again, i never took a loss on the 1st release. I'm still puzzled about the title of 'Collector's Edition' though, as I've always gathered, to be given that title, the 1st release of a companies product had to have had a huge impact and a loyal follwing, so huge that the company could re-release it with a few more additions such as for example a (Tee-Shirt, Collector Poster, figurines...blah,blah,blah).With the 1st release being a disater from what I've read(the number of complaints are staggering thoughout the net), the title is more laughable then it is gutsy. Man, the rules sure are changing.-holyknight7

Starts good but palls quickly [Posted on 2007-10-07]
So I made the mistake of buying this game without checking it out first. Big mistake. It does start out good with an interesting storyline, but after running around the bland repetitive country side and running into the 58th random encounter and listening to the bad acting and watching the painted on armor instead of it being modeled, well, it just gets really old. I didn't try the original one, so I can't compare it with this version, but from what I've read, it's even worse than this. If you want a really good RPG, try Gothic. That one is Awesome! This one is...well...boring.

Ce much better than the original [Posted on 2008-01-18]
I know this game has been beaten up from the beginning and i feel dreamcatcher totally mishandled the release and response to the consumers. I decided to give the Ce a try and have had a good time playing this game. It still has some bugs but nothing to really take away from the game. This game had alot of potential and sadly was not given the time to be developed. I feel this game should be given another chance for anyone looking to by the CE edition only. I hope the expansion packand Dungeon Lords 2 will be handled differently and that Bradley will make sure these games are not released before they are perfected

Needs more work done!! [Posted on 2008-07-06]
Well the game is fun to play up until the point of trying to exit the first town. Note that I have done everything quest wise and upon exiting the west gate of fargrove the game crashes. I bought this version hoping it would not have any bugs like the first release. I am in Iraq right now and do not have internet access to download patches so I had my wife send me the collectors edition hoping it would solve my problem. It did not fix it. This game although fun to play has serious problems when it comes to crashes. I would have thought that this game being a collectors edition would have been near flawless in play. This game is truly a collectors edition for folks collecting unplayable games. It went right into my footlocker until I get home and can patch the game.
