Nearing the $100 price point, it's a good option. [Posted on 2008-01-09] Let's start saying that this card is not speed demon, and it's widely known that when it came out, it wasn't a good choice because at its original price point, it was too far away performance-wise from the high end cards to be called a midrange card. But now at near $100 it is a good card to recommend to someone who wants a cheap card that can do some light gaming. It can certainly handle some past generation games on good resolutions. Just don't expect it to handle Crysis with all the bells and whistles. eVGA is generally very reliable, and with this card they're certainly keeping that trend, it just works flawlessly.
Don't listen to bad reviews. Great working video card. SLI is AMAZING!! [Posted on 2008-03-01] This card works great. The SLI capabilities are incredible. The people who wrote bad reviews probably had the wrong type of motherboard. This card packs a great punch (DDR3 RAM!!!) for a small price. Great deal!
Pretty good [Posted on 2008-03-02] This plays Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2, portal etc at 45fps with all the settings turned up to high @ 1280x1024. Once you're in the game you can't really tell the difference between 30 and 120fps anyways so this is a great card. It plays Bioshock at 35fps @ 1024x768. I'm using a core 2 duo 2.2ghz with 2GB of ram, which is way more processor than I need for these games. If you don't need 1600x1200 @ 120fps this should be just fine for your needs. Also it supports directX 10, but if you're playing games you're probably not running Vista, which needs it to use DX10. But it's there if you need it 10 years down the road.
Beware of the computer illiterate reviews [Posted on 2008-03-23] You'll notice some that have reviewed this card talking about how they have a Gateway computer... and other nonsense like ram and processors, these are things that have nothing to do with graphics card compatibility. So don't listen to them of course. They all need to get Macs.
This card, if you have the right motherboard for it, packs a lot of bang for your buck, and can run most of the latest games at decent fps. I highly recommend it.
Easy install..but the driver won't work on Vista [Posted on 2008-04-27] Install this card on Dell I530 wiht no problem luckyly...all contents in the box are so loose and even though it says it is compatable with Vista the driver that come with this package did not work. Downloaded the driver from their web site and it installed okay.
