Just Wondering?? [Posted on 2002-10-27] So, you need a credit/debit card to buy the time card on Amazon.com. And you only need the time card if you can't use a credit/debit card to suscribe directly. So why do you use it on Amazon.com and not just through EA? I don't get it.. Technically speaking, you don't need this card at all to play the game, the time card is just another means of paying for your subscription to the game (other than simply paying EA through their software/website). Otherwise, I'll just mention that this game is a bloody expensive habit to form, and as a starving college student I can't afford it myself, though I have heard it is quite a good game.
Clarifying the purpose of this card [Posted on 2002-12-04] Many of the previous reviews have been debating whether or not you NEED this card to play the game. The answer is NO, you can pay as you go with a credit card. Why, then, would you purchase this card? Here are a few possibilities: 1. It's slightly less expensive to pay this way, at least if you order with Super Saver Shipping (it'll be ... cheaper/month... not a huge amount but it's something). 2. It may be easier to budget your money this way, in one chunk rather than a little bit here and there. 3. Most importantly, this makes a FANTASTIC gift for someone who currently plays the game or for someone also receiving the game. This would be the most obvious purpose, as I see it, to buy this card. I really don't see how the prepaid card vs. credit card argument previously mentioned by other reviewers is even relevant to purchase on Amazon.com (unless you use a gift certificate or something). I think we need to look beyond that argument to see the actual features Earth and Beyond wants to promote with this card. If you look at the details, and the points I'm trying to bring out, you'll find that this card has a few very specific benefits (primarily gift-giving!), works very well for those purposes, but that's about the extent of it. Very good for what it's intended for.
What u forget... [Posted on 2003-02-07] are other countrys than USA/Canada. I'm from Germany and order the Time Card ist the only way for continue the game. Im pleasured about this possibility. Greetings from Germany ;)
Dont buy, Game no longer exsists [Posted on 2006-11-23] Quite a while ago now, this game was pulled by EA.
Just warning to try to help people not accidently buy this.
Extremely weird that its still up for sale at all.
Useless [Posted on 2007-07-19] The game for which this card supplies game time has been out of service for over 2 years. It was MMO game & it was fun when it was online but since noone can play it anymore this gametime card is only useful as a nostalgic item or a coaster.
