Problem solver [Posted on 2007-01-10] I got a Pandigital photo frame for the holidays only to find out that it wasn't compatible with Macintosh, nor with a Smart Media card for my Fuji camera. I didn't want to return it since my Mom was so excited to give it to me, so I did a lot of research and tried a lot of tricks and the Eforcity reader was the solution. I was able to transfer photos from my smart media card to an SD card. Now I can transfer photos to the frame with few problems. (The Pandigital frame is indeed full of bugs!) The Card Reader mounted immediately to my Mac hard drive... no software needed. It communicates automatically with iPhoto and needs no external power source. I see many more uses for this little reader. Good buy.
doesn't work at usb2 [Posted on 2007-07-03] Tried it with OSX 10.4, XP and Linux and it didn't seem to work. Only way I've gotten anything so far is with Linux forcing it to be USB1.1
it should just plug in and work.
PURE JUNK [Posted on 2008-09-01] I bought this to use with a WD Passport drive to down load pictures to the laptop and then tot he Passport. Its small, flat, and has several USB ports all of which look excellent -- on paper. The reality is that the unit is crudely made and the ports for the various memory cards do NOT line up properly so inserting a card is difficult at best. It fails to connect to the laptop running XP Professional and the USB bridge will not permit other devices like a wireless mouse to work with the reader connected. Best of all when I wrote the seller asking about the miss aligned ports, I never got an answer. Stay away from this piece of pure junk.
