This item did not work well. It froze on several screens, had no button to press when a response was indicated at another, and just wasn't worth the money spent.

I just bought this at Staples, (a sort of impulse purchase) I homeschool and always look for extras to do on computer. I must say I just installed the Reading and am a little disappointed. This is not cutting edge at all. Some good basic games and mediocre graphics and a horribly annoying sound bytes for right and wrong. Thank goodness you can turn the music off. There is no way to choose grade or ability levels. I think my K will get the most out of it but I would say the reading is not beyond a 3rd grade level. I don't hold much hope for the rest of the cds.

BE READY TO INVEST SOME personal TIME [Posted on 2007-08-08]
This educational software will be helpful to any child's knowledge, BUT be ready to invest time into "dowloading" software patches from the Topics Entertainment website.
I guess there were some software difficiencies in the CDs, so you have to invest some time into fixing these deficiencies. Its pretty easy, but don't expect to download the software into your computer and be able to run all the programs instantly.

Not worth a penny [Posted on 2008-04-19]
I homeschool, and I deeply regret buying this product. We needed to download a patch apparently, but it would not allow the patch because it couldn't find the software on our computer. Of course, that's because the installer for the game doesn't even work. We are no computer dummies in this house, and yet we could not get this product to work, on either Windows XP or Vista.

Bottom line: this product is a waste of money and not at all worth buying. There are many quality educational programs available. I recommend buying one of them and leaving this particular product in the warehouse.
