These batteries are fine; this is my second time replacing them in my Panasonic phone. (The originals lasted about a year and these about a year and a half.) But be very careful about what seems like a good deal. Amazon showed my best price as being through Eek Technology at $8.99 each. Being Amazon, I was feeling comfortable and they almost slipped through charging me over $15 shipping for an $8.99 battery. This is the kind of nonsense that I expect at eBay, not Amazon.

We've had to replace the original panasonic battery twice now and they never seem to last that long to begin with. I've had the phone checked out by the authorize panasonic service center and both times it was just in need of a new battery. The energizer battery has a higher amp output and that is a plus too over the original battery.
Inaccurate battery nomencalture [Posted on 2007-08-04]
I did a search for a 80-5808-00-00 cordless phone and this is what showed - it is a 3 cell battery and the one for the phone battery I was looking for is a 2 cell battery. This is not a replacement for the 80-5808-00-00 even though it says it is.
Er-P511 battery much better than Panasonic P-511Y [Posted on 2008-01-20]
Very pleased that I learned of the availability of the Er-P511 as a replacement for the Panasonic P-511Y cordless phone battery. I was about ready to dispose of the Panasonic phone because of the poor reliability and life of the Panasonic batteries. Fortunately, the phone is functioning like new again with the Er-P511 replacement battery and I'm looking forward to a lot more life from the phone. I recommend this Energizer battery.
