I found that this scanner was ready-to-go coming out of the box. The set-up instructions were simple and straight-forward. I was worried that I might have a problem since I was running Vista on my PC, but that was not the case. I was able to start scanning immediately and have not had the least problem with this device. It works!

I read the reviews before I purchased this product and most said it was not a bad scanner. Well....I could not get it to load the software on OS Vista, so I tried my other computer using XP Pro and could not load the software either. I bypassed the denial of a dialog box and tried to use the scanner and it would not work. Software and instructions are online and they are poor, poor, poor) Do not buy this product..

I am unable to review this itme because to date I have been unable to get it to talk to my computer. I went to the Epson site and they indicated I have the latest driver. I even enlisted the aid of my son sort of a teckie and he was unable to get it to work. I was planning on buying one of the large format Epson printers but have decided to go with a different brand.

This photo/slide/negative scanner is excellent. It is easy to use and creates great digital images. So far I have just experimented with slides. My parents have trays and trays of old slides. It is easy to use, the software is easy to install and use. I am looking forward to spending hours scanning old slides and passing the digital images on to my children.

I bought this scanner especially for scanning negatives and it's doing a great job! The negatives fit in easily and the scans are much better than the scans I've tried of the photos. The only small problem I encountered was when the dust removal help removed one eye of one person on two different occasions. It's worth switching it off and then back on, though, because the dust removal does help.
