Customer Reviews:

Wonderful printer [Posted on 2003-12-17]
This printer is awesome! It prints text and photos very quickly. The ink has a very long life, which is good because it is really expensive! The printer is small and light weight and aesthetically pleasing. I got this printer three years ago and it still works great today.

Paper feed problems [Posted on 2004-03-13]
When I bought my printer I was excited to get it home and start prining pictures and documents. My excitement soon faded, the paper feed is unreliable. Any time I start my printer it never feeds the first sheet, I have to coax the paper for a couple of minutes before it feeds.
I have also been having problems with the color, when printing pictures the color does not match what is on the computer. To verify that it is a problem with this printer I have taken the same picture to other printers and made far higher quality pictures. I guess now I am so frustrated I am looking for a new printer and Epson will be on the bottom of my list.

Wow! 50,000 sheets and still printing [Posted on 2004-04-12]
I just went through another ream and looked back at my records and noticed that this printer has printed a minimum of 50,000 sheets of paper. It still works perfectly. If you can get your hands on this printer, I would definately recommend it.
As a Realtor, photographer, and student, I am constantly printing pages that need to be high quality, but also need to be printed quickly. That is the problem that I have found with many printers that I run into: they are either fast and low quality or slow and high quality. This printer is both fast and has high quality output. Not only that, but the ink for this printer is amazingly inexpensive through third party inks. I use inksell to buy mine, but I'm sure others work well too.

Great Envelope printer too! [Posted on 2006-04-08]
People are raving about the quality of color photographs with this printer - but I love it for another reason entirely -- it's speed printing envelopes. If you print addresses directly on envelopes this is definitely the printer for you.

The carriage on the this printer is large enough to hold envelopes in portrait mode - that means the printer only has to make 1 or 2 passes to completely print the address.

Generally it takes about 3 to 5 seconds to print an envelope - about as fast as I can feed them through the machine. Compare that to the new Epson printer I bought a couple of months ago that takes 15 to 20 seconds/envelope.

Plus - the cartridges for this model printer are still dirt cheap - I paid more for ink cartridges on my new printer in one month than I had in the last 3 years put together for the Epson 880. That's when I unpacked the 880 and put it back to work. Anybody want an Epson R220?

Great If You Use It Often [Posted on 2007-05-03]
This printer does an excellent job with any task, especially printing pictures on photo paper. I used my Stylus 880 for five years, and it is the printer that got me through college. However, if you do not use it frequently, very bad things can happen: the ink gums up and then splatters on the page, which gets ink on the rollers, which ruins the next 10 or 20 pages that go through the printer. Occasionally, the paper mis-feeds, crinkles, and causes ink to get thrown around the rollers, again ruining the next 10-20 pages you send through it. If you are planning on using it daily, this is a great machine, but if you plan on using it once in a while, beware!
