Fifa 2005 [Posted on 2005-01-30] Fifa 2005 is very simialar to Fifa 2004. But there are differences between the two. I really like 2005 more for the reasons that the new style is really cool. The music in the game is killer [they went for a more international music approach, rather than just the American music scene], and there is a visible differnece in the graphics upgrade. Basically, its an updated version of 2004. However, I bought this just for the hell of it, but 2005 doesnt come anywhere close to Winning Eleven 7. I bought Winning Eleven 8 recently, but it was in Japanese, but the gameplay is so much better. In F2005, no matter how many times you press sprint, the players just move so slow. The stadiums itselfs are not very lively, [i only saw one flag waving in the enitre crowd]. I bought 2005 mainly because I lost Winning Eleven 7, but Fifa 2005 is still pretty worth the buy. I do, however, prefer the winning eleven series. Gameplay is much easier and better at the same time.
Arcade version, not a simulation [Posted on 2005-02-10] If you want to play football without much control depth then choose this over the European "Pro Evolution Soccer 4" (title is "Winning 11" in the US) and if you have heard the buzz surrounding that game then you should know that it is in the top three sports simulations of all time.
Winning 11 however is not an out-of-box game, taking days to learn, weeks to master and then improve on with other players. FIFA works straight out of box, is easy, but its limits become all too obvious in light on Winning 11, a game has been in development since the Nintendo 64 and is easily the best soccer engine out there.
The bottom line is that if you want a soccer game that works out of box, that you can play almost right away with anybody, then FIFA has it. If you want a real soccer sim that takes longer to get into but is far better, then choose Winning 11.
seems fifa is making each of its sequel worst than before [Posted on 2005-07-17] the video has minor glitches.the ball and players move slowly.its a pain to get a goal.it just wansn;t right.i didn't like anything in this game
BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD [Posted on 2005-10-22] This game is one of the worst soccer games i have ever seen. The animation is bad. The control is even worse. I just couldn't believe my eye. Eventhough FIFA 04 isn't a great game at all, it is still way better than this. Get winning 11, if you want a great soccer game. EA is making this franchise worse, and worse every single year. I still wonder how worse next years version will be. They are really killing this franchise.
A disappointment [Posted on 2005-11-03] FIFA 2005 is one of the worse FIFA games by EA sports. I love watching and playing soccer but this game isn't right. They are very inconsistant with their FIFA games year after year. I have FIFA 2004 and that was fun. I was good with FIFA 2004, but like many reviewers say, it's not easy to score on FIFA 2005. Good players don't perform the way they should and there aren't much spins to the ball. Players don't that have, "flexibility" like they did with 2004. It's a total disappointment. When it comes to EA games, I always and only love NHL series, even though I don't play hockey. It's a great game. If you're good playing NHL 2001, you will be good with 2K2, 2K3 and so on. But this doesn't apply to FIFA. You're good with one year, you have to adapt to the playability to the next. Hope they're better with 2K6.
Did I mention you can't swap players? That's right, you can't trade all on the good players on your team. The menu music is terrible too. They get a 2-star because the graphics and the character's look are astonishing. Other than that, no more pros.
Bottomline to FIFA 2005, don't buy it unless you want to collect it.
