Works Like It's Supposed To [Posted on 2001-06-08] The product comes in little dual packets, very similar to the wet napkins you get on an airplane or at a barbeque restaurant. One package holds the wet towel, the other holds a dry towel. It is important to dry the screen immediately, or the cleaning solution leaves spots (easy to remove). I like the karma cloth for dusting and polishing. The only issue I have is that the product is a little expensive but I will likely buy it again when it runs out.
Good, works great for PC monitors [Posted on 2001-08-30] This is a good product (although a little bit expensive). One overlooked item is that they are pretty good for cleaning PC monitors!!. After you clean your PDA screen, use them on your PC monitor (unless your PDA was really, really dirty :-)). It works great for removing finger smudges.
A waste of money [Posted on 2002-01-13] This product appears to be nothing an overpriced, cutesy-named ("Brain Wash") box of alcohol wipes. The "wet" wipes seem to be pretty much the same as those things you buy to clean your eyeglasses, and the "dry" wipes are, well, basically a napkin. As far as I could tell from using it, this product does nothing for the screen of your PDA that a small shot of Windex and a soft cloth couldn't.
Not that big a deal [Posted on 2002-02-14] I probably won't buy it again, because (as another reviewer pointed out) it's really nothing more than screen cleaner & wipes in cute individual packages. Sure, there's a convenience factor there, but how often do you need that kind of convenience when you're cleaning something? The wet wipe is large enough to clean about three full-sized monitors, so it really does seem like overkill for a PDA. I always clean my PDA and desktop monitor at the same time, so I don't feel like I'm wasting. I might use it if I were travelling a great deal with a laptop. Otherwise, for your desktop computer, save some money and grab a bottle of screen cleaner & an old dishtowel instead.
Doesn't just clean but makes light scratches disappear [Posted on 2004-10-29] This is actually a re-branded Concept Kitchen product and it is a pity that the Concept Kitchen web site has disappeared because that site explained how this product not only cleaned your PDA screen but also reduced the visibility of any scratches on it.
Each of the 12 Brain Wash packets contains two pouches -
Pouch 1 - contains a wet cloth, impregnated with liquid polymers, that actually seems to fill in any light scratches on your PDA screen so that they can no longer be seen.
Pouch 2 - contains an excellent dry buffing cloth.
I've used this product for many years on my Psion 5mx and it has always done an excellent job. This week I had occasion to use it on my new Fujitsu-Siemens Loox 720 and once again the result was excellent - all the little scratches which could be seen under certain light conditions were gone.
This product lasts a lot longer than you might think too. I usually re-seal the pouches after use and by doing this can get quite a number of washes out of a Brain Wash packet before it is exhausted. At the end of its life I usually use it to clean my monitor screen.
