Only for the very occasional user (aka this is junk) [Posted on 2008-01-28] I have had it for two years and like others, hit has serious deteriorated until now it doesn't work. At best, it shreds for less than two minutes and then shuts off for five to cool down. It will drive you nuts if you 30-50 pages to shred at the same time. It one of the worse products I have ever bought.
Great shredder, if you know... [Posted on 2008-03-15] I bought this shredder at another store for it's good looks and perfect size. I shredded like crazy, probably overdid it (it cautions you to let 'er cool down a bit). Used it pretty steadily for a few days. Weeks went by before I needed to use it again, and I found that nothing was moving; it kind of froze up. So, I tipped it upside down (the teeth part up) sprayed it with WD40 and kind of coaxed the teeth with a big screwdriver. Works like a champ ever since. Simply do not let it overheat too much, don't overfeed, and keep it oiled. I've had it 3 years now and couldn't be more pleased. It eats CDs too...you know the kind where you've burned copies of private important records. Credit cards, the whole shebang...a little patience people. This is made for home office not the 100-employee building. I love it.
Beware Plastic Gears! [Posted on 2008-03-31] Fellowes uses plastic gears in some of their shredders such as the P400C-2. These will wear out (all the teeth broke off on mine) and they do not support replacement parts after 5 years.
P70CM Paper Shredder [Posted on 2008-05-04] I think it's perfect for a small office. It doesn't take a lot of space. Looks very nice. Words very well. And the price is right. I really like it.
This shredder is worthless!!!!! [Posted on 2008-05-10] After our first shredder died, we decided to try this one which is the cross shredder. It constantly jammed and we had to use tweezers to pull out the stuck pieces in the teeth before it would operate again. Now suddenly it has completely died. No amount of work on it will get it operating! Never again!
