Ernie is a great toy. Its only $15 and worth the money. If your comparing it to the TMX Elmo, then you will be disappointed. Ernie does not do as much but for the price the kids will enjoy.

This one (and the cookie monster one too) is SOOOO CUTE! I can't believe that it can stand up, sit down, roll onto his back (while having a laugh attack) turn to his side, and belly laugh that way, sit back up, grunt and rock to a bowing position, and then stand back up again. Not so sure about this toy [Posted on 2008-05-12]
I bought this since my daughter loves her Tickle Me Elmo, and she loves Ernie. She's been a little scared of it since it starts very abruptly, so we've barely used it. I'm not sure if she will grow into it since she is only 8 months old, but as for now, its really not suitable for her. It also lacks the diversity of laughs and moves that Elmo has.

Well, I bought this one on sale because I love the blue Cookie Monster that's kind of similar to this one. But it's not as much fun as the Cookie monster. My son pretty much ignores it. I would recommend getting the Cookie monster instead.
