Great Basic Phone [Posted on 2008-04-02]
I have basic phone service. No caller ID, call waiting, etc. I just wanted a cordless phone with an answering machine. So I haven't used the caller ID features. This phone has been great for me. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's easy to accidentally hang up while multi-tasking and holding the phone on your shoulder. The button is right near your cheek. If you're careful though, this should be fine. I wouldn't consider it a reason to not buy the phone.

Static, static, nothing but noise [Posted on 2008-04-06]
This is the worse phone I have ever bought, I let it charge for a couple of days and then hooked it up to the phone line, fist it is very confusing trying to insert numbers into the memory. second when trying to make a call you have to push way to many buttons, and the noise and static as you talk is unbelievable. receiving a call on the answering service is filled with more noise that you don't understand the message. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I love the GE phones because they allow you to do chain dialing. I have not found another type of phone that offers this feature. Since I use a remote long distance service (rather than the phone company) I need to dial a 1-800 number, followed by an access code, and then the number I am wanting to call. With this phone I simply dial "memory 1," then "memory 2," and then whatever number I need or another number that I have programmed into the memory keys. It is fast and simple, and I really appreciate the ease. I have owned many GE phones that have come from this generation of design. This is my first answering phone and I found it very easy to work. All in all this is a great phone for the investment and much easier to use than most phones I have tried in the past, ie: not too complicated.

Great value and easy to use. Only draw back is the caller ID is difficult to read, other than that it's exactly what I expected.
