Works poorly, Short life span [Posted on 2004-12-18] When new this mouse was barely acceptable. The software that came with it didn't work. I had to download new software form the company that made it (NOT GE) to even get it to work. The motion was a bit rough but I could live with it. Every day the mouse seemed to get worse. Changing the batteries sometimes helped, but you shouldn't have to replace them every day. After about 2 months it became completely useless. One star is generous, I'd give it ZERO stars if I could.
Wireless Garbage [Posted on 2005-09-19] I have a wireless trackball at home made by Logitech that I love. I needed a new mouse at work, so I picked this one up based on my previously wonderful experience with wireless input devices. For a month it was great. Since then, the batteries seem to die every two weeks. My logitech trackball goes about 6 months before I need to change the batteries. I'm amazed at how fast this things chew up batteries. After 2.5 months and 4 battery changes, I'm going to buy a logitech trackball.
Great if you get the new 2.4 Ghz version [Posted on 2006-01-05] I got this mouse for Christmas, but it is the 2nd Revision using 2.4 Ghz technology and not RF. The thing is awesome. I don't know about the RF version, but the new version is precise, comfortable, and works perfectly.
This mouse = teh suck [Posted on 2006-01-10] As said above, it eats batteries (mine did not explode them). The motion is really jerky, probably due to the fact that the receiver/mouse connection sucks. If there was ANYTHING between them, no signal. Nearly blinded myself trying to sync them. On a positive note, being wireless makes the mouse very throwable, for when you're tired of putting up with it. It smashes very nicely.
Wish I seen the reviews before buying... [Posted on 2006-12-04] Got this mouse at a great price after trying to get Logitech that sold out. The mouse was well made and worked through a radio transmitter and not infrared. I can hide the receiver behind a desk and not worry about keeping a line of sight open between the mouse and the receiver. It comes with no software and a skimpy instruction sheet. The receiver uses power from the USB port. The weak link and the show stopper is the mouse power supply. Initially, the batteries that came with the unit lasted about 2 -3 weeks. I installed Energizers and now I'm changing batteries every week!! Saying it's a battery eater is an understatement! It had a power save feature. The mouse goes to sleep after a few minutes and even has a very tiny On/Off switch. These features didn't help at all in extending battery life. I highly recommend getting a rechargeable mouse that charges the battery during computer down time like Logitech. This mouse looks great and feels nice but what good is it if I'm changing batteries every few days. Definitely not environmentally friendly!!!!!
