HP Quality is Down the Tubes [Posted on 2008-04-24]
This month I purchased the HP 7560 All in One and had to return it because the control panel did not work. HP stated it was a hardware issue and generously offered to replace it "free of cost to me!" (how generous of them). I thought it was just a quirk, pushed aside my feelings of foreboding and decided that I'd go ahead and upgrade to a newer machine. So I ordered the HP 7780 All-in-One.

Unbelieveable! I can't tell you if this printer works or not because once again, the control panel is inoperative due to a hardware issue that HP cannot resolve. Once again they generously offered to replace it at no cost to me but I must wait 5-7 business days to receive it, and have to repackage the whole thing (has anyone ever been able to get their products back into the box as received??) and take it to be shipped back.

I'm furious at the serious reduction in quality I've seen in HP products. Having been a huge HP proponent for many years for my own business and that of my clients, I've purchased no less than a dozen HP products over the years. Never again.

Don't waste your time or money with HP. Two different models - same hardware issue does not bode well for this company.

Best printer I've had. Though the wireless setup is not too easy [Posted on 2008-04-29]
I've had several printers over the past fifteen years, and I would have to say that this is certainly the best one I have purchased for my home. It works well and the menu systems make sense. I have performed the print, scan, and copy features so far, and they have all worked without any issues.

The only problem is setting this printer up to work wirelessly with my network. The printer did work with all of my computers, but then stopped when I moved it to another room. I now have to reconfigure it to get back to where I was. I'll wait until the remodelling is done and I am able to return it to the original place.

Overall, it is a great system. As other users have said, it is quite loud when it prints and actually vibrates not only the printer, but the desk its sitting on. However, this has not been a distraction for me.

I hope to be able to use this printer for many years before needing to replace it.

The Printer For You! [Posted on 2008-05-08]
This printer does anything anyone could want. It has an amazing scanner. It has a high dpi and has a large piece of glass to fit almost any size of paper. The printer is very fast and the duplexer works very well. It is extremely quick and easy for me to printer double-sided now. The only mechanism I have not yet tried is the fax. I assume it is very good. The only flaw for this device, is that when I tried to wirelessly print. It worked amazing at first, but after I turned the printer off and on again, it froze up after the wireless networking had started up. I fixed this by inserting an ethernet cable into the printer and then the wireless networking shut off. I then disabled it. I hope in the future that HP will fix this issue. You may have read articles saying that this printer is not compatible with Windows Vista. THAT IS NOT TRUE! This printer is 100% compatible with Vista. Another great feature of the printer is the screen. This makes it easier to change settings and perform tasks. Finally, the printer comes with Readeris Pro, a program that can convert documents into text files. It works fairly well, but it is not yet perfect. I highly recommend that you purchase this product!

Mac Friendly [Posted on 2008-05-10]
Just opened and installed this evening. Simple to install. I am a Mac user so I was concerned that it might be too PC focused. But as usual, Mac set-up was a breeze. The only problem I had was that the included software for Mac would not go through the install process. But I was able print anyway without any added software. It was a simple click to add the printer to my Print & Fax preferences, it found a compatible driver in seconds and I was on my way. I printed from Adobe InDesign without any problems. The copier function is great and fast! Color and Black and White are very sharp. I am able to scan over the web as well. Once I get more use out of this device I will update my review. If you're a Mac owner looking for an all-in-one, this is a great choice.

Excellent Office Print once networking is set up. [Posted on 2008-05-15]
This printer turned out to be everything I'd hoped for in an all-in-one printer. There are some issues getting wireless networking working properly with a Macintosh, but once set up (using HP IP printing - NOT Bonjour) it works flawlessly. There remain a few minor driver issues, especially when using it via emulations, such as Citrix. For example, I use Tray 1 for envelopes (the only tray that can be used for envelopes) and Tray 2 for paper. I've got Tray 2 set as the default for everything, yet when printing via a Citrix client, it defaults to Tray 1 and prevents me from manually selecting Tray 2.

Print quality is excellent whether you're looking at standard black text or color photos. I still need to do some calibration to get accurate photo prints, but even without, it's darn close.

All told, for the price, this is one solid HP printer!
