I bought this because my HP desktop has the bay for it and it's the best possible solution for backing up my drive, my browser settings (Firefox) and email. It pops in and out easily and I can carry it to work for other files I carry on the drive. Highly recommended!!!

What a neat system HP has put together with the Media Center Pavilions and these Pocket Drives. This is a fairly quick USB 120gb drive which slides into a slot on the HP Pavilion computers (mine is an a6000 series), but then pops out and can plug into any other desktop or laptop with USB plugs (two USB plugs are sometimes needed for power reasons).

HP well thought this out with a fairly rugged (for ultra-portables) drive which can only go into the desktop one way. Another nice touch is the sleeve the drive slides into in the carry case has an opening which you can plug into the drive without taking it out of the carry case-- just unzip the case and plug the cable in.

Lastly, when I first saw the price on the 80gb, I thought, "Oh, no- HP is going to charge too much for these drives" -- but the price for the 120gb is very fair, and the 160gb is a bargain. Since these drives specially slide into HP desktops (but they will plug into anything)- HP won't sell as many as Seagate or WD will with their ultra portables, but to keep the price in the same ballpark is a credit to HP and Amazon.

This drive is truly portable--it carries its driver, so that using it on computers away from home only requires taking the drive and its USB cable. The driver installs in seconds. It is powered by the host computer via USB, so no power cable or batteries are needed. It works seemlessly, performing equally with your hard disk. It never overheats and is sleek, elegant, and so small. It comes with a handy and protective zippered envelope. I love it.

Easy to install plug and play. Easy to use. Becomes part of you system on installation. Totally compatible with all XP versions if you stay under 137GB drives. Free softwear that comes with the drive makes full backups a snap. I highly recommend this product. If you don't have one you should get one.

Simple to use for backup or transfering data. Disappears and becomes part of the desktop with no wires in the way. Disconnects from desktop bay in seconds and connects to another PC via USB with wires provided. Great idea and worth the cost.
