Poor monitor's brightness [Posted on 2007-01-08]
It seems like 17" monitors in HP laptops are significantly less bright than smaller monitors in HP laptops and even 17" monitors in laptops of other brands (e.g., Sony). This has been confirmed by customers passing by and Compusa salesmen.

There are so many wonderful features of this laptop - the screen, the memory, the video card, the dual-core processor, the volume control on the keyboard (you will never be able to be without it again) - but unfortunately HP decided to throw in some cheap components too. My laptop's motherboard slowly died until its ultimate demise less than one year after purchasing it (in order: the computer started failing to hibernate (after about 2 weeks), the laptop stopped being able to keep time (after about 1 month), the headphone jack grounding ring would no longer stay in (after about 1 month), the little rubber feet fell off (after about 5 months), the power plug was loose (after about 9 months), the wireless hardware stopped being detected (after about 11 months), then it wouldn't boot (after about 11 months)).
They gave me a new motherboard, replaced the headphone grounding ring (which was no longer seated at week 3 after it being replaced), and mostly everything seems much better. This laptop could have been so wonderful if they would have spent a tiny bit more on quality assurance.

Again, I Bought a Laptop from this company, and Everything was OK. Delivered on time, in good conditions. This is a great Computer, and I hope to buy another one in the next months. (to a relative outside the country), and I am considering to buy from them Again. Great Deal!

This product is phenomenal, its incredible capacity, its yield is excellent, very good that of the included remote control although it weighs, I recommend it
