Customer Reviews:

Wireless is just awesome, just awesome. [Posted on 2007-03-22]
This printer breaks all barriers as far as convience goes. Just one wire, the plug !! No cables ~~ no need to keep the printer in the same room as your computer. YOU can put it where YOU WANT.. A+ for laptops..

Initial hookup is not for the faint of heart, but if you just forge ahead with the setup, you can nail it... Once you install the drivers via CD or download them from HP's web sight, you're on your way..

The overall quality is pretty dang good.................

The All-In -One From Hell--I'd Give It Zero Stars If I Could [Posted on 2007-04-17]
I bought an HP PSC 2510 Photosmart all-in-one because of the extreme reliability of the HP copiers my office used and abused for decades and because of the flawless performance of the ancient HP IIIP personal laser printer I still use. That was my big mistake.

Let me share my misery; some of it like others, some not. First, the HP PSC 2510 Photosmart All-in One took forever to set up and required several hours on the phone with tech support in India with techs whose English was as impossible to understand as many others have complained about.

The machine worked well for a month or two during which it was only infrequently used. Then, when I turned it on one day all the control lights started to blink and I got an error message saying I should check the ink cartridges. I did all the things that the manual said to do--barely used cartridges checked, shaken, cleaned and reinserted, print head cleaned and realigned several times but, I still got the blinking lights and error message. Inexplicably, this error situation disabled all of the functions of the machine--including those which did not require any use of the printing capabilities i.e. no scanning and no faxing. An hour or two with barely understandable Indian tech support--who seemed quite familiar with this error message and its results--produced a fix that lasted one day. That same fix brought no results the next time.

I gave up and did without all those nifty All-In-One features, so, the machine sat there gathering dust and dirty looks for many months. Finally one day, after I had tried and failed yet again to get the machine up and running and then emailed customer service complaining about this essentially brand new and totally useless POS, I was contacted by an Indian tech from HP and told that, since my original warranty had now run, I could get--for you a special deal!--not a refund, not a new machine but a discount on a higher priced machine if I bought it that day. Needless to say this experience has soured me completely on HP and its products.

Good Printer.... Horrible Software (workaround) [Posted on 2007-09-14]
We bought the printer for the WiFi capability. However, over WiFi it would lose data, take forever, and printing was sporadic. I finally hardwired it to my router. I still had to install that horrible software when all I wanted to do was print. I discovered of you only want printing, install it as an HP DeskJet 990C. That works great. I can still scan by HTTP and do local copying. If it were not for the 990C discovery, I would have thrown it off a bridge. The software is huge, slow, and full of bugs. HP really screwed up on this. Outsourcing to India is not always a good idea...

Has worked GREAT for years! [Posted on 2008-01-25]
I love mine which I have had about 2 years. I only use Apple/Mac computers and this works great with them. Multiple ways of networking and connecting let you set it up the way that works best for you. I just tuck mine away in a back room and let it connect wireless to my network. Any device on my network can print from anywhere in the house and the printer can stay out of the way, freeing up valuable desk space. If you plan on using the scanner to scan to your computer, you should think about other ways to connect because wireless will be to slow. One configuration could be that you connect via a USB 2.0 cable to your desktop computer, but can still also print wireless from any wireless device.

Many other reviews here criticize the included software. HELLO you bought a PRINTER not Photoshop. If you want real software go buy some! All I ever want is for my computer to recognize my printer and install as little software as possible, and that is what you get here. At least on Mac, all you need is the little driver file and you are good to go. Print from Photoshop or Illustrator and it looks great. Why would you ever try to use HP photo editing software?

BUYER BEWARE <<<<<<<<>>>>>>>> POS [Posted on 2008-05-07]
Have you ever felt that you were being used? HP has really outdone the extent to which certain unscrupulous businesses use customers to help them develop their products; HP took the all time lead for incompetence and customer dissatisfaction with this machine. It may be the first wireless all in one for HP, it appears to be, and should have never been put in the market place. Expect any support from HP. Good luck. It might be easier to get a hammer and start hitting yourself on the head with it than to expect HP to deliver what they can't. The PSC 2510 fits neatly into the catagory of beauty being only skin deep; in the case of this machine lurking under the surface is a disgusting example of bad technology with the producer taking absolutely no responsibility what so ever for its creation. Even the techies can't fix the problems; as many others have said, the software is impossible.

BOYCOTT HP >>>>> THERE MUST BE A LEGITIMATE WAY TO CORRECT CORPORATE GREED AND INCOMPETENCE AND GET THEM TO BE AFRAID OF DOING THIS TO THE BUYING PUBLIC >>> I PROPOSE A COMPLETE BOYCOTT OF HP PRODUCTS FOR ONE YEAR >>> BUY OTHER MANUFACTURERS PRODUCTS AND LET HP GO UNDER. SINCE THEY TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY WHAT SO EVER FOR THEIR JUNK PRODUCTS IT IS WHAT THEY DESERVE.

I am now using a Canon all in one and am very pleased with it.
