Does not work [Posted on 2008-09-13] This item does not work with my printer. I called HP and was on the phone for an hour with tech support trying to get it to work. they finally told me to go buy an new printer.Great!!
Wish I had purchased a wireless printer instead... [Posted on 2008-09-15] Let me first say this item set up on my computer and worked almost immediately, problem is every time I signed off my computer, the adapter kept resetting. I finally disconnected the PC adapter and rewired hard into my computer. Good news is it does still operate wirelessly from our laptops, I am just not sure if it because of the adapter itself, or the fact that my laptops are part of my wireless network. Worse of all, there is very little troubleshooting assistance online, and I gave up calling HP, because I was transferred multiple times (to multiple countries I suspect) and still never spoke with a technician who could help me. Either way, I am out the $ that could have gone into a wireless printer AND I could have saved myself the time and aggravation!!
I would not recommend this item to anyone with fair to moderate computer knowledge and experience. My rating and recommendation would have been dramatically different if I had received the technical assistance I needed.
A waste of money [Posted on 2008-09-16] Purchased the HP wireless printing upgrade kit and it doesn't work. After installing/unstalling multiple times!
Time to take to return - time - gas and inconvenience, is just not worth it!
impressed [Posted on 2008-09-18] I read some of the previous reviews with a degree of scepticism particularly as there seemed to be problems when setting this up with Vista. However I went ahead and bought the product and I'm glad I did. Set it up to work on three laptops ,two on XP and one on Vista, it took no more than 30 minutes and it worked like a dream on all of them. It's still early days but on performace so far I have to rate this with 5 stars.
Works but annoying [Posted on 2008-10-02] This is a great little product to help clear my printer out of my kitchen where I keep my laptop. It works great. Only two negatives...One is that I can only connect one computer to the printer. (Not a big deal.) The other problem is that since I installed this on my computer, there is a program that keeps trying to install at my computer start-up. I cannot seem to get it to stop. (More annoying than anything.)
