Poorly Done [Posted on 2007-08-02] Withthe movement of a lot of games branded "Tycoon", it was only a matter of time before this title would come out. Hard Truck Tycoon is made by the same company that developed the 18 Wheels of Steel Series. If you take in account the Hard Truck series and the 18 Wheels of Steel series, I would have to say that 2 titles have been unspectacular (this one included. Usually when the first titles from a franchise are released you would expect some bugs and maybe a horrible game here and there. As more titles are released you would see a modest improvement. Valusoft had a very buggy 18WoS: Convoy and a strange release of it's recent 18WoS title called American Long Haul.
Hard Truck Tycoon has been out for 2 years. Unfortunately it's not at all good. The graphics take a huge leap backwards (even compared to the video cards of 2006). You are basically looking from a top-bottom view. The gameplay doesn't keep you into it as sometimes you click on a job and then tap your fingers wondering what to do next which brings me to my next point: the manual. Very tiny and not very informative. The interface is not at all appealing.
You are in charge of a company. You hire the drivers as well as the trucks. You are also suppose to create jobs by sending the driver(s) to the industries and their destinations while staying afloat. If you don't make a profit, game over.
Sadly as soon as I loaded the game, I quickly removed it.
