What a great little antenna [Posted on 2007-11-16] This is a very good little antenna. It is small enough to place in many locations. It pulls in the signal where I couldn't get a signal before with a 7-dBi antenna from another company. This is the first wireless product I have actually been quite happy with.
Great product [Posted on 2007-12-03] Huge gain in signal strength over normal antenna that comes with router. The only problem is trying to find extension cables to actually use this in the corner of the room for what it is intended for. This comes with the converter pigtails for mac and pc which is a big plus. Well worth the money.
Inconclusive [Posted on 2008-01-07] Not real sure how to rate this. The ordering process was quick and easy, shipment was not a problem. The actual performance of the product was questionable, in that it MAY have worked. The conditions in which the product was expected to perform in may have exceeded the products abilities. My test procedures were inconclusive to be able to give a helpful opinion.
Excellent Results...if you know what you are doing [Posted on 2008-01-20] I bought this antenna and got a drastic increase in signal strength & range, but I still initially had issues despite the high signal strength. The trick is, now that you've boosted the router strength, you may need to boost the strength of the client device, in my case, a laptop. In the wireless card driver configuration/properties on my laptop I had to change the settings so the broadcast strength was optimized for range & not power savings to take advantage of the increased range of the signal from my router. Just because you added an extra 20 - 50 ft of broadcast range to your router, doesn't mean client devices have the strength to send all the way back.
No Improvement [Posted on 2008-07-02] I did thorough testing before and after installing this antenna. I was replacing a Linksys +7db antenna. Testing revealed no improvement throughout my entire house, and one area (inside directional field of antenna) was actually slightly worse. I went back to the old antenna and am installing this in another access point in my garage.
