Works OK, but with older 233MHz PC it puts so much load on the CPU that can't do much else while surfing the web. The dialup connection speeds are usually 48000 or 49333 bps in my area. I also use an external USR 5686E external modem with this PC and it does much better, with nil load on the CPU and mostly 50666 bps connections.
To be fair, I think the Hayes modem would probably work much better with a newer and faster CPU, but not sure if connect speeds would improve.
