HP Delivers Again [Posted on 2000-02-11] I recently received my Jornada 430 and have been extremely pleased with its performance and ease of use. Start-up time is less than 5 minutes, as you simply touch the screen and can begin using applications. Plenty of speed, bright colored screen, adequate battery power, and a convenient user guide. A compact flash card can also be added to the device, allowing for remote internet access. This, of course, is an additional cost to the unit. Overall, the best PDA on the market.
Journey with Jornada! [Posted on 2000-02-16] I just received mine yesterday and it is FANTASTIC! I was up and working on it within 2 minutes. Everything about this little guy/girl is impressive. I really didn't know what I was buying when I bought it but I knew I couldn't go wrong with an HP Palm PC. I was right!
Incredible power, but a little bulky [Posted on 2000-02-23] I gave up my Palm Pilot Pro (6 oz., 1 MB RAM, 16 MHz CPU, monochrome screen) to move to this newer generation device (8 oz., 16 MB RAM, 131 Mhz CPU, color screen). It comes with Outlook 2000 and synchronizes flawlessly with that and Windows 98 functions. Interestingly, its speed seems about the same as the Palm; however, it can play MP3 files, record and play .wav files, play Audible files, and interface with Word. It's slightly bulkier than the Palm Pro and considerably more so than a Palm V. If you're looking for lots of bells and whistles, the Jornada is great. If you need some basic functions in a smaller package, look at the Palm V.
tired of re-loading [Posted on 2000-03-07] Nice looking, Beautiful color screen, easy to use, yet my 430 continues to shut down and not start up. I've tried soft start, hard start, I'm ready to start the thing on fire. My 430 is less than 6 months old. Very unreliable!
Sweet, but kind of bulky. [Posted on 2002-08-15] I got one about a month ago and it's cool. first of all it has a built in MP3 player which is really cool, but if you plan on using it a lot I suggest you get a few large memory cards. Next it has a 16-bit color so you can put high resolution images on it. there are also many other cool things on it, but if size matters to you I suggest you get something a little more compact, I mean this thing is 5.1 × 3.2 × 0.9 big! But if you just want a handheld to scribble down notes, and replace getting a MP3 player this is the way to go. Over all I really like it and would reccomend it to anyone looking for a PDA.
