Good Points and Bad. You decide. [Posted on 2001-01-30] I use this software to locate individuals or businesses, rather than for mass mailings. The program offers a wide variety of ways to search, either by name, phone number, address or business type. These capabilities are not available with searchable online directories like Switchboard.com, so the program has been a valuable tool. The downside is that even after purchasing the software, users must call the company to get an unlock code within a limited number of days or the program ceases to be functional. Also, every time you close the program, you have to close a series of "promotional" screens advertising the company's other products. For people interested in mass mailings, there is a limit to the number of mailing labels that can be printed directly from the software. After the limit is reached, users must pay additional money to increase the number of labels they can print. Finally, the program constantly starts up a browser window which goes to the InfoUSA website where users are assaulted with more advertising. It's disruptive and annoying, and only by calling technical support can a user stop the browser window from opening. Overall, I like the product, but not the constant self-promotion by the company. If a similar product were produced by someone else, I would try that instead, but haven't found one yet.
PROBLEM [Posted on 2001-05-23] AFTER YOU BUY THIS SOFTWARE YOU ARE THEN REQUIRED TO PAY EXTRA TO USE IT. THE OTHER SIMILAR SOFTWARE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.
