Would Not Buy... [Posted on 2006-11-07] Plugged it in, it was fine. Went down to my computer 5 days later and the lights were off, no longer worked. Called IO Gear, took 5 days to get an RMA# so that I could send it back to them for repair. Dealer wouldn't take it back because I had it over a 7-day period (took me a couple days before I installed it) I'm in Canada, so I have to pay extra shipping to US for repair. I don't think it is worth it, I'll probably chuck it out and get another brand.
Looks cool and I like the design, except for the base, but the quality is very poor.

Superb -- I'm very happy with this hub. [Posted on 2007-01-09] There are lots of devices like this out there, and this was the best price I found. Everything seems to connect these days by USB, and this hub is a great way to expand computers with only five or six built-in connections.
Nice hub for the price [Posted on 2007-06-19] This is a nice little external hub for the price. It works just fine. The hub is a little too light for me. I have to velcro it to the desk to keep it in place if I am using all of the rear ports to keep it from falling off to the floor. I sold this to someone else and bought the D-Link 7 port hub instead. I only gave it 4 stars because it needs to be held down otherwise it could fall off if all the ports are in use.
necessary option [Posted on 2008-05-06] This unit works great. I like the flexability it gives with 7 more usb connections. With a wireless hook up using two of my usb connections, this was a real necessity. It works without any problem and I now have two of them, one for each of my Mac computers. Yes, the base is flimsey, but I don't knock things around when I am on the computer so this is no problem.
Works on my Mac Mini [Posted on 2008-05-29] The stand isn't worth even packing in the box, but the hub itself works just fine. I have an external hard disk, printer, keyboard, and mouse plugged in and there were no issues with any of them. Access to the hard disk shows no speed loss as opposed to being plugged directly into one of the mini's onboard USB ports.
As an added bonus, the styling of this USB hub blends well with Mac gear.
