Worked for One Month [Posted on 2008-01-25]
I got this keyboard for christmas because I thought the gamer keys off to the side was a great idea. The idea of programing the keys to suit which game you were playing and the zboard engine that had almost any game you could think of was awesome. Then one morning I fired up my computer and it made an odd beep instead of the normal "hey I'm starting up beep" I looked and it said "Unrecognized USB Mass storage device detected. So I tried to hit F1 or what have you to investigate when I noticed the keyboard wasn't lit up. The keyboard had completely died. I tried it on different USB ports and even added the keyboard adapter, but NOTHING. Windows said the device was defective and if the problem persisted replace it. Thinking maybe it was my computer acting up I tried my girlfriends normal keyboard and it worked fine. I tried to hook it up to hers and it had the same problem. With that in mind buyers beware, it's a cool keyboard and maybe I just got a bad one but I'll stick with my G11 now instead.

Super if you're small, lamentable if you are large... [Posted on 2008-02-15]
This is a heavy, well built, well thought-out keyboard. The keys are sturdy, the backlit keys are clear and precise. The keyboard is great and my fiance' and roomate love it. I am a man with large knuckles and fat fingers. The gamer-side of the keyboard is not functional for someone with large fingers. Quite simply, I can't use it. I would love to see Ideazon make an ergonomic keyboard version of this without the gamer-side functions. I would use it in a heartbeat. Four out of Five because they didn't consider us fat-fingered gamers when they designed the left-hand side of this otherwise wonderful piece of keyboard engineering.

Excellent gaming keyboard! [Posted on 2008-02-27]
I was torn between getting this keyboard, or waiting for Belkin to release their new n52te gaming keypad which is just under the cost of this keyboard. I got tired of waiting for Belkin to role out the n52te and decided on this. One word - excellent! I also have the current n52 Belkin keypad, but wanted key lighting and better feel. The gaming controls of the MERC Stealth are much more comfortable to me than the n52 (but this is subjective), and I found them easier to get used to and have more control in games such as CoD4.

As others have mentioned, the regular keyboard layout is a bit different such as the numpad area, but I'm quickly getting used to it. Tactile feedback is also excellent for me on this keyboard, as well as build quality. I'm getting rid of the Belkin n52, and am happily using the MERC Stealth for gaming as well as regular computer tasks. Highly recommeded!

Awesome product !! [Posted on 2008-04-05]
This keyboard has a host of keys that are programmable to the core. The backlighting is sleek.

Pros:
Almost all game keys downloadable through their software.
Backlight in 3 colors and 3 brightness levels each.
2 USB ports on it
headphone and mic outlets

Cons:
No gaming cons but some other concerns.
The ins, del, home, pgup .. etc are integrated in the numpad so numpad is mostly non-usable to me.
While the pad on the left is ergonomically placed, the main typing part is not very ergonomic, they could have curved it a little.
The keys on the main typing part are even smaller than those on my dell 710m.

Lastly, if I had read a review like the one you just read, I would still buy it ... :D

I love this keyboard! The macros are great and easy to use. The colors are cool.
The only thing I would change about the keyboard is that the number pad and the INS, DEL, HOME,END...keys are shift variated. I got around that though by assigning the INS, DEL, HOME, END...etc keys to the buttons on the left.
Other than that, everything installed quickly and easily, the jacks for the headset and mic work, the extra USB ports are convenient, and I love the music fast keys as well.
highly recommended!
