A powerful process charting package - needs a bit of work on presentation skills [Posted on 2007-03-08]
A comprehensive flowcharting package. Having also used Visio, I find the latter easier to use when trying to impress with fancy diagrams but Flowcharter is way ahead if you really want to focus on the processes. New users may find a steeper initial learning curve as there's so much in it, especially if your first use is to draw a basic chart - but once you've found your way around, and set up your preferences, it's easy.

Two niggles:
1) Some of the features in the menus suggest you already have features that you'll only get if you buy the extra packages. I wish there was a setting that would remove/suppress these "preview" features - especially as I work alone and don't need them to interface with people that have the other packages.
2) The SPC add-ins are better than when I previously used Flowcharter (version 7) but they still need improving as far as presentation is concerned; for example, text appears to be embedded as bit-maps so get very blocky when scaled or pasted into other documents.
