wouldn't buy another infocus! [Posted on 2004-11-09]
I had a horrible time with this product. I paid $1800 for the LP640, fired it up and it went straight back down citing a fan failure. I generated an RMA with InFocus , sent it back , and they sent it right back to me UNTOUCHED! UGGGHH!! I generated another RMA and they replaced the unit with another but this one also had a fan failure. On the eve of an important company presentation they wanted to charge my credit card $3700 to guarantee delivery of a THIRD unit to get here in time for the presentation. I'm getting my money back on this piece of junk and getting a different, cheaper model. I wonder if they had a bad batch or something.......
Solid Projector [Posted on 2006-06-06]
Our company has used InFocus, including two of this particular projector, for years without problems. Of the four projector that we currently use (3 InFocus, 1 Sony), only the Sony has had problems (but I wouldn't use one experience to say that Sony is a bad company).
More importantly, this projector has good projection and lumens/light, and is very easy to use. We have done very little modification to the factory defaults (nor have we needed to) and have been very happy with the performance.
The worst shopping experience with amazon.com [Posted on 2006-06-30]
I purchased this product from Amazon.com. The product was never shipped to me. The amazon.com claimed that I returned the product and charged me shipping and handling fee. Eventually, they refund the charge. I called amazon.com. they admitted that they made mistake and claimed amazon never recall back product that thay sell to customer. So, they place another order for me and guarantee ship me by certain day so I won't missed the presentation which I need the product. I waited and waited. I never received this product!
Horrible experience with Infocus [Posted on 2006-08-25]
I like the projector, it's perfect for watching movies.
However, the lamp only last for less than 100 hrs. It is suggested to last for 2000 hrs. I sent an email to Infocus supports, stated that the projector had power on, the fan was running, but it threw an error message said 'the lamp couldn't strike'. And I told them that the lamp was used for less than 100 hrs. Guess how they reply me?
"Our Factory Service Center will
troubleshoot and diagnose the failure based on the symptom/failure data provided by you (your
organization). The issue to be examined is Fan, no lamp ."
There's no phone number that you can call them, the only way to contact them is email.
