Fantastic! [Posted on 2007-11-28] I was a bit skeptical buying this device at first because the reviews of similar models were not too complementary. I found that this pen scanner is VERY accurate. I use it to copy lines from photocopies and even books. You don't even have to put the book on a table as long as you scan in a relatively straight line. There is even a plastic guide to put on the tip of the pen to help beginners. It is very fast at processing each line and you get an immediate preview of what you just scanned. It is much smaller than you might think and is relatively light. It is like using an electronic highlighter. There are no wires to get in the way and it automatically shuts off. It is easy to transfer the data to your PC via the USB cable or to your PDA via the infrared. I am very satisfied with its performance and the price.
infocam [Posted on 2008-02-09] I purchased this pen last weekend, installed it, but when I tried to scan a sentence from a book that I was reading, I kept getting this:
Atly advocates O ~"e"~~'N'''""tca~~?l~v2~J lrly adAocvVGe o~ tpG eocls~ luoqGI (IGEUGq Tw~uc y?4~ edical issue, and concentrated instead on disabilityl as a `cial1 `_~ boTIu~bEIGuolrl~ulJu. ?one trly sgAocsV~e o~ Veg eoc?sl woq~I qGeuGg !DJbS!~IUGU~ &~~'S 15 .vf11 ? cf cEnGq order to grasf) IS A~lqGI~ s~EnGq
Not worth the price for a pen that doesn't scan well. It is better to type your own document than waste hours of trying to scan a page.
Not worth the trouble [Posted on 2008-03-10] This item does work, but you have to scan very, very slowly and carefully or you end up with a garbled mess. I type faster than that!
not usable - too slow [Posted on 2008-03-24] This is a cute product. It recognizes the text with OK accuracy. Is able to work left or right-handed. The big problem is, it is just way way too slow to be usable. You scan one line, then you have to wait over five seconds. It takes so long that by the time you go to do the next line, you forgot which line you just did, you have to wait so long even if the line is a very short column. I had to send it back.
