Worth the money [Posted on 2007-06-06] It may be a little more expensive than other language software, but I think it is well worth the extra cost. The total immersion method may seem a little intimidating, but you will be surprise at how quickly you learn as opposed to a memorization technique.
My kids are addicted! [Posted on 2007-07-03] My kids, 7 and 9 years old, are addicted to learning Italian using the Rosetta Stone system. After a year of trying traditional methods (workbooks, audio tapes and videos - all for children)without much interest on their part ("It's too much like school!" my seven year old complained)I was at a loss until a friend recommended the system to me. We tried the free demo CD (available at Rosetta's website) and I was delighted to see my kids enjoying the games AND spouting Italian words and phrases. We ordered Rosetta Stone Italian Level 1 Win/Mac Personal Edition from Amazon and now after just four weeks of daily five minute lessons (sometimes they play for a half hour) we are having mini Italian conversations. I am pleased that my kids enjoy the program and that they are learning the language without their mother nagging them. Che bello!
It is ok but not the best [Posted on 2007-08-01] Like some other programs, you have to guess the meaning of the pictures, it is fine with sample pictures but with more complicate situations, people guess differently, so they suppose to speak different words?
If it had pictures and words, include dictionary and explanations, that would be perfect.
Rosetta Stone Rocks [Posted on 2007-08-23] This is the first time I tried to learn any language! Being Italian I had a very keen interest in this language and was scared. I started and it was helpful, interesting and I was able to go back and go forward as I felt I needed. I often want to go back and review from the beginning and I am able to do this. The pictures, the written words, and the voice is all so helpful.
Bella Italia! [Posted on 2007-09-27] I knew some italian, but needed to refresh my knowledge! This is by far the best product! I would absolutely recomend the Rosetta Stone!
