It works with W580i, mostly... [Posted on 2008-06-24] I bought these for working out. They pair somewhat problematically with my Sony W580i. When they are paired, the music quality is just OK, but good enough for what I require. They seem to drop the music connection every so often and the phone will only play through the on-board speaker. To cure this problem it requires cycling the phone off and on (turning the headset off and on has no effect). I don't know about the voice quality as I haven't ever used it for phone calls.
The music skips dependent upon the location of the phone as well as the position of your body. The connection is generally good while running or walking with the phone on my hip, however, the same location while cycling the music to skip so much that it is not listenable. Moving the phone to another location cures the problem.
The lights on the earpieces are a bit annoying. They must be turned off after every time the headphones are turned on or charged. When the lights are turned off, there is no other indicator to tell you that the unit is powered on.
The headphones are comfortable and the behind the neck design allows me to use them with my bike helmet. The ear pads are a bit hot, but similar to other over the ear headphones.
The low cost is what caused me to buy this headset. If I had it to do again, I would shell out the extra money in hopes of getting something that would be more reliable in use.
Comfortable!! [Posted on 2008-06-24] Very comfortable, great sound!! Comes with a USB cable that can be used to charge the device. Lightweight!
Awesome deal, great headset!! [Posted on 2008-06-27] I bought this headset after a lot of searching and reading the reviews here on Amazon! I had happy I bought this. First, hats off to Amazon for their on time delivery! This is a great deal. For the price, this headset is really worth every cent. Some have commented on the quality of music through this headset, but I have no complaints. Also, for 35 dollars, we cannot expect BOSE speaker quality sound! Overall, a great deal!!
Jabra + Cell Phone Mp3 = Great Times!!! [Posted on 2008-07-12] I was looking for a wireless solution to my mp3/bluetooth enabled/cell phone and this seems to be it.
A cell phone and a mp3 player was (is) the perfect marriage of the two devices I use constantly. However, the headset that came with the music bundle from my cell phone provider had severe limitations: they lacked sound quality/volume, (listening to music on my phone was like listen to music on a cheap dollar store FM radio) and the ear plugs always seemed to fall out of my ears during my cardio workouts.
The Jabra has the right price, good sound quality (well, it's not a bose but let's face it--if you were in the market for that type of big ticket item, you wouldn't have taken the time to read my review; $30 gets you clear high trebles and some decent bass), and the behind-the-neck design keeps them in place. The volume could be a little louder on both the music and the phone calls, but since the speakers cover your entire ear, they seem to block out most of the background sounds. Speaking of the size, incredibly its weight is a non-issue. You feel them on, but they seem light due to the ergonomic design. The controls for both the phone calls and the music play are intuitive and easy to learn/use. Also, the bluetooth pairing went through without incident (no wires--definitely a benefit), and the battery life...well, let's just say that my cell phone will run out of battery power before the Jabra will.
All and all, I feel I got my money's worth and then some. Anyone looking for an inexpensive wireless headset for their cell phone (mainly for music, but will handle calls reasonably well too) shouldn't be disappointed. I feel I will be using this headset for some time.
Not loud enough and the range is not-as-advertised. [Posted on 2008-07-17] I planned to use these headphones while doing yardwork, including mowing and weed whacking. These headphones do not get loud enough for use in this application. The 30-foot range is, well, it AIN'T!
I won't buy anything like this via mail order again. A hands-on demo would have nixed these without spending the money first.
