Volume won't stay up [Posted on 2008-08-29] This is a nice slick looking device and the button design is nice. But as many others stated the volume issue is what killed it.
The pairing is a snap. I brought this from a store and set it up when I get back in my car in less than a minute. As soon as I got it paired up a call came in. The initial volume was too low so I press the + button to increase the speaker volume and it works great. I can hear the caller clearly and the other party has no problem hearing me. However when I start driving down the highway another call came in and the volume level went back to the initial level, so I had to press the + button to increase it before I can hear the caller clearly. At this point I was thinking it might be an operator error. So I call up a friend and sure enough the volume went back to the low level again!
I got home and take a look at the manual on the CD to see if there is some trick to set the volume permanently but there is none!
It is a slick piece of hardware but it is also a road hazard. Everytime when a call comes in you'll have to adjust the volume! Which is a big distraction!
I already ordered the Blueant Supertooth Light from Amazon. Once the order came in I'm returning this.
Junk... [Posted on 2008-09-11] Lasted a few months after which time it could no longer be paired with any bluetooth phone. Will never buy anything Jabra again :/
Needs Improvement [Posted on 2008-09-16] I'm disappointed with my unit for two primary reasons: (1) The indicator lights are not visible during the daytime. I can't tell whether the unit is on or off ... (2) Voice dialing; it doesn't understand me and I don't understand it. I'm going to have to look for something else.
Could be better [Posted on 2008-09-16] I have had this unit for 4 months now and overall I am satisfied with it's performance, however there are a few problems that keep me from giving the unit more stars. The on off plate is becoming unresponsive, not enough volume to overcome road noise, the volume resets to the lowest level when the unit is turned off so it needs to be reset every time, long recharge times when charging from the lighter socket. indicator lights almost impossible to see in the daylight.
It's ok for the price [Posted on 2008-09-24] It works, and it's cheap. That's the good news... however the bad news is that the volume is pretty low when maxed (unless you sit right under your visor you'll be leaning forward to hear), there is no AC adapter, so charging can be a hassle unless you buy an additional AC to Cigarette Lighter adapter for charging.
My biggest disappointment is that the adhesive that holds the face plate on does not stand up to California summers well. I finally had to glue mine in place to get it to stay put (otherwise the lights are distractingly bright, so you have to turn them off, luckily this feature is available).
