Eh no [Posted on 2005-05-20] Okay I'm going to tell you about this game by breaking down the facts. I beta tested this and so did 100's and 100's of other people but I'll share my point of views. The game flow is nice, I can't lie and tell you that the game play is almost like playing the real thing but it's not free. This game works using battle points or I should say duelist points which you would have to pay for via credit card.A player can battle a few people until their amount of points runs out and again you have to pay for these points. So thats a down side to it, paying just so you can play a card game which you can do so for free in real life is pretty dumb and a bad investment mainly if your already paying for their boosters and other junk.
You see if your a yugioh card playing and your going to spend money on this game and then buying cards and paying for these points just to play then I'm sorry to say but your going to end up broke unless your folks are willing to invest cash on this or your going to put money from your pocket. Don't get me wrong its nice while it was free but with this catch, its another way konami can make extra bucks off kids or teens, even grown ups. Now lets talk about the game play, every now so offen your going to encounter a person that discounts because their losing. I seen this done tons of times and it becomes rather boring. Then you have the normal chat room thing, while your playing you might have some little kid trash talking on the chat window while your playing or telling you how great he or she might be. So you basically never watch the chat window unless you want to read trash talk or how great some one is. Then comes the way of earning a card, sometimes or ever so offen you get 1 free card from a booster. The more you play the more boosters are there for you, they also have this duelist level junk going on which if i recall it also has an effect with the boosters you get or are allow to get. So the higher you are the better seletion you'll get. You also get 5 i believe cards if you pay for extra duelist points.
I believe if i remember it's $15 bucks unless they lower it down. The game over all is good while it last, but after a while because everyone one has the same start deck and everyone BS's all the time it becomes boring and slow. A lot of people might tell you other wise that this is a great game, sure it is but for 1 day after that time period you'll just uninstall it and wish you got your 15 bucks back. This game is only mainly for the die hard yugioh fans out there, so if that is you then go for it this game is for you.
This game is highly GREAT! I am hooked! [Posted on 2005-07-09] If you like the Yu-Gi-Oh Card game this is it! It is the card game you have grown to love, It has all hte same rules, you win a new card each game -- even if you lose-- and it has over 1000 cards to collect. You start as a beginner and work your way up, I get a game within a minute of looking for one !!
I say go get this -- It is what it sounds like no special graphics, it is the card game for your computer that you play online.
You cant go wrong!
Great game, could be better. [Posted on 2006-06-28] Quite a fun game. I beta tested over a year ago and kind of swayed away from the game because my parents couldn't afford it and I'm not as much of an enthusiastic player of Yu-Gi-Oh anymore. I have some good things to say about this and some bad things.
First thing's first is that the gameplay is excellent. It plays smoothly and quickly and is actually rather enjoyable. You can also talk with your opponents and trade between them for the cards you desire. And as for obtain cards overall, the way in which you obtain cards is by just dueling period. Win or lose, you still get cards! :)
So what might make a game like this bad? Well, if you're a heavy duelist, you might want to consider Magic the Gathering Online (another collectible card game online). This game costs 1 duelist point per duel. Unfortunately, you must pay $9.99 for 3 duelpass keys, which come with 30 duel points and 1 rare card each. This is different compared to Magic Online, which allows you to play unlimited duels but causes you to pay for cards. However, you can also trade still on Magic Online and you can play tournaments to get more packs and can even trade event tickets (the money on Magic Online) to obtain packs.
Final word: If you're a Yu-Gi-Oh fan, this game's for you. It's cheaper than the physical cards, there's plenty of convenience and is definitely plenty of fun. However, again, if you play often, I'd highly recommend Magic Online instead.
