A Very Good Product. [Posted on 2008-11-01] When I saw the ad in the magazine about how Kaspersky Anti-Virus won't slow your computer down, I was ready to try. I have been running Norton's for years, and always have had a very slow boot-up time, and some of my programs were affected as well. Since I have installed this product, I have not noticed any conflict with my programs, especially "Studio 9". I also have cut my boot-up time in half. I highly recommend it!
Effective protection [Posted on 2008-11-03] Most effective solution as far as my experience goes. Before switching to Kaspersky last year, I used security software from other so-called big name vendor. Once a virus made into my PC through a torrent download. After searching much on the internet, I came to know that only Kaspersky had solution for that trojan and it was the only solution which could fix the issue. Then on I have been a loyal customer of their products. This year I bought Anti-virus 2009. Happy with the purchase. Simple installation. Quick too. Least intrusive. Even full scan is very fast. Updates happen in the background without affecting what you are doing. The software does not hog resources at all. This is a big distinction from other name band AV products which hog a lot of resources. Over the years, I have been disenchanted with other software vendor whose products have become too bloated while their secret sauce has diluted. Kaspersky seems to focus on the core while keeping other parts simple. Other vendors are more interested in signing you up for yearly updates and once you give your credit card details, that's it, they keep charging you whether you need their useless protection or not. Getting out of their automatic renewal is not very straightforward. You may have to call their support, be on hold for several hours, even after that you may be lucky to get out of their hook. Thus far Kaspersky has been very straight forward with gentle reminders and nothing else. Lack of sales pressure was also a reason to stick with them.
Best solution on the market. Go for it.
Not a system hog [Posted on 2008-11-09] This software is not a system resource hog. It appears to perform exactly as expected with no discernable intrusions. It simply works in the background. The only time I have ever known it was there is when it found a virus or some other kind of malware. Top marks to Kaspersky! It is simply the best anti-virus software I have ever owned.
Doesn't slow down the computer... [Posted on 2008-11-12] I highly recommend Kaspersky over McAfee and Norton. I've used all three products and Kaspersky is the only one that has not slowed down my computer and still be effective. However, I did have an issue with the program in August 2008. The product completely stopped working and my PC Tools Spyware Doctor program caught the virus before it spread, but it originate from Kaspersky. THe product works but customer service needs some major work.
Kaspersky has never let me down. [Posted on 2008-11-28] I used to use Norton until it became so bloated and slow. I'm very happy with Kaspersky. It does everything I want it to, and nothing I don't. It updates itself every few hours. It's stopped everything bad that I've needed it to. It doesn't slow my systems down to a crawl, and it has worked 100% perfectly on my systems. I couldn't ask for anything else. I run it on a Vista and an XP system. No problems on either.
