Had to return it [Posted on 2005-08-01] I have a Dell laptop, and the USB ports are on the left. I use the mouse on the right and this mouse would only work intermittently on the right - because of the poor RF signal. Basically unusable. It must be a very crappy RF receiver. It also goes to sleep after no activity and would take at least 2seconds to wake up - kind of annoying (trying to save batteries). There are plenty of better wireless notebook mice out there for the same price or LESS! I decided to return this one and go with the best however: the Logitech V500 - and it's amazing.
The mouse designed by committee..... [Posted on 2005-08-20] Apparently everyone on the design team got a piece of the pie except the users. Claimed range of 3-feet is about 18-inches, at best. "You will not need drivers", wrong again during a late night download. This one just does not do it at all as I shop for a replacement for my brand new mouse...
Make sure you buy the service contract with this [Posted on 2005-09-07] I have had two of the PocketMouse Pro Wireless Mouse. I also did not install the driver software as it caused a software conflictl. The first one I owned, the cover that holds the USB device broke and Kensington replaced it. On the second one, the scroll wheel broke in less than a year and I will not get another one. I will try another brand.
Decent [Posted on 2005-11-07] This mouse has positive and negative qualities. Compared to other wireless mice, such as the Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse, it is decent, but not too far above average.
The Kensington mouse is easy enough to hook up to the computer, just plug the reciever into the USB port. The more difficult part is getting reception from the mouse to the reciever. To get reception, a button on the reciever is pushed and held in for few seconds. Sometimes this does not work and must be repeated until it does. The Logitech mouse did not have this problem and usually worked right away.
Mouse movement of the Kensington is somewhat difficult to master. It moves too quickly and jerkily. The Logitech mouse was easier to manuever. It also moved very smoothly.
The size of both the Kensington and Logitech mice are similar. Both were a little bulky and difficult to carry around in a laptop case.
Battery life is another key to a excellent wireless mouse. The Kensington mouse has exceptional battery life. It seems to last forever. The Logitech battery life, although still very good, doesn't compare to that of the Kensington.
Most wireless mice have their drawbacks. The Kensington is a decent mouse, and it serves it's purpose well enough.
Bad mouse [Posted on 2007-08-09] This mouse has a problem with tracking. At times it tracks well at other times it skips badly. This is a piece of junk that I'm throwing out.
